Venue Use

First class facilities allow for use of the Centre by outside groups – from self-help and community groups to commercial concerns.

The main activity area accommodates up to 80 people in a theatre-style setting, which can be divided into two equal areas; the large back patio will comfortably accommodate up to 25 people.

The Centre is fully equipped with tables and chairs, and additional equipment such as data projector, DVD player and CD player are available on request.

Facilities also include a fully-equipped kitchen with crockery, cutlery, urns and dishwasher.

Office Services

The Centre is able to offer colour or black and white photocopying, and laminating (up to A3) at minimal prices. Phone 4055 6440 for more details.

Emergency Relief

Through funding from the Commonwealth Government’s Department of Social Services, the Centre is able to offer limited emergency relief to individuals and families experiencing financial crisis. Bookings are by appointment only. (conditions apply). Phone 4055 6440 for more information.

Support and Community Information

Personal support is offered at no cost, with information and referral when required. Community information about social, recreational, welfare and educational services and assistance with Government services and community-based agencies is also available.

Mosaics Group

Shed Mosaics is designed to bring people with like-minded interests together to share their inspiration, make new friends and learn new skills through the medium of mosaic art.  Shed Mosaics is a group process for the community, and men and women of all ages are invited to participate. 

Children's Playtime

Children’s Playtime takes place each Wednesday morning between 9 am and 11.30 am. These informal gatherings provide parents, carers and children with a relaxed and safe environment to meet, make friends, have fun and share experiences.

This session is free; please bring a piece of fruit to share.  You and your children can enjoy friendship and access to toys and resources.

Tax help

Through an initiative of the Australian Tax Office, the Centre offers a free tax help service to members of the community on limited income. The service runs from July to October and appointments are necessary.

Safe and Confident Living

This program provides relevant information on personal safety to older people.  The fear of crime is very real for many, and can lead to excessive precautions being taken. If you want to know more, please call the Seniors Support Worker on 4055 6440.

Computer Classes

Free Access to Broadband

Through the Commonwealth Government’s Broadband for Seniors initiative, the Centre has an internet kiosk which is available free of charge for use at any time during office hours. One-on-one instruction is available by appointment.

Users of the Marlin Coast Neighbourhood Centre are asked to become financial members of the organisation. To qualify for membership, a person should have a genuine interest and belief to promote, assist or participate in its activiites.

Application for membership forms and further information about the Centre are available from the reception during office hours.

Membership Fee: $10.00 per year

Office Hours:  Monday to Thursday 9am to 4pm  and Friday 9am to 12 noon
